Alice Hayes

Introduction

Alice Hayes (1657-1720) is another female writer known for her spiritual autobiography, this time from a Quaker perspective. It was first published in 1723, and several times reprinted, as A legacy, or, Widow's mite, left by Alice Hayes, to her children and others. No manuscript of the work, however, is known to have survived.
