Constantia Munda

Along with Rachel Speght and Ester Sowernam, Constantia Munda is one of the contributors to a series of vigorous pamphlet attacks on the anti-feminist bayter of women John Swetnam, her pamphlet being entitled The Worming of a Mad Dogge, or, A soppe for Cerberus the Jayler of Hell (London, 1617). The learned references in the work, as well as the sheer ferocity of the satire, have led to suspicion that not only is the author using a pseudonym but that the work may not even be written by a woman, but simply in the persona of a woman. In any event, there are no known manuscripts of writings by this obscure author.
