Anne Venn

1627–1654

Introduction

The radical Puritan Anne Venn left at her death a private religious diary which was posthumously published by her stepfather, Thomas Weld, as A Wise Virgins Lamp Burning, or, Gods sweet Incomes of Love to a Gracious Soul Waiting for Him, (London, 1658). Neither her autograph diary, nor any other devotional papers by her, are known to have survived — only a registered copy of her will (VeA 1).
